Sid performed on his school's 2nd anniversary

Yesterday, on 03rd of March, 2012, Sid had a very grand day… it was his schools’ 2nd anniversary and after id joined the school, it is the 1st anniversary….
For some days now, Sid has been seen practicing many a things like dance, Karate…I used to hear many stories from Rupu on how he has been practicing for the school anniversary. When I ask him to show me soem of those that he was practicing, he gets into shell and glues to his mom in shy… So, for me, I was eagerly waiting for this grand event so I can see Sid performing on the stage.
Mom and dad, uncle and aunt were here only for this occasion. Umesh, Shirisha and Chutki are obvious invitees for the event.
I was praying GOD (seriously) to make this event a grand success for Sid… because last time, when he was performing on the stage, the moment he noticed me near by the stage taking his pics, he wanted to come to me and didn’t concentrate on the performance. This time from the school management we (not only us, all the parents) had strict instructions for not to use the cameras and not to move closely with the kids while they are performing . But I know that I would not have any issues with my bigger lens J
Sid had a nice sleep in the morning. We didn’t wake him up in the morning on his usual wake up time because we know once he gets a nice sleep, he can do well. Also he had a nice nap in the afternoon as well for the same purpose.
Rupu dropped him to the school by 04 PM. The scheduled start of the program was at 05 PM. We were ready by 05 and at the school by 05:05PM thinking that the show will start on time. But as not expected, the show got delayed by an hour. Because we were the early birds there, we had a luxury to choose comfortable seats. We chose seats in such a way that Sid cannot see us while he was performing…

Before we could start from home we (Rupu and myself) decided that Rupu would be handling handycam and  I would handle the still camera.

The first program was “Prayers by the kids" and Sid was part of it… He struggled a bit when he had the mike for the first time in his hands but soon, he started saying “Vakrathunda Mahakaaya….”
For us everything other than Sid’s shows was seriously unnecessary… we were just waiting only for the shows that featured Sid…
Surprise guests were Prashanth and Jayasree… We were too happy for their presence for Sid… I know they will be there for Sid all the time…
We were bored with the events not just because they were not good but because we were too excited to see Sid performing all the time in all the events… I know this is unfair saying…”We were bored” but in fact the quality of the programs were seriously good. Doing the programs with the kids of age Sid’s is seriously a challenging.  But surprisingly, they all are of top quality…
My parents, Uncle and aunt got bored because of the same above reason but they managed to be there till to the end…
Umesh and Shirisha were there for some time but because Chutki crying, they got to come back to home… they were followed by Prashanth.
Every time we see Sid performing on the stage, we were in the heaven… Thanks to the school, we could see Sid like this…
Another important note here to be mentioned is that, Opposite to my thoughts, Sid now does not have stage fear. I can see Sid dancing literally for anything that he feels as music…He is mingling with people like never before… I was too happy for these improvements in him.
He won 2 prizes in the end for the events they conducted…
·        1st prize in the fancy dress competition for his famous TRIBALMAN getup
·        2nd prize in the running competition
Over all, a very good day, on which all went well…and a memorable day for all of us at home…

We were proud parents as Sid was receiving his first awards…J
Please see the posts that follow detailing the Sid's performances with photos...
